Learn how to assign postcode areas to engineers in ServiceMate. This guide explains how to add new postcode coverage to an engineer’s profile so the system can automatically offer them jobs in the correct locations when scheduling repairs.

Click on Settings

Click Settings in the main navigation. This will open the settings menu where you can manage system configuration, users, engineers, and other account options.

Click on Users

From the settings menu, click Users. This will open the list of users in your ServiceMate account, where you can manage engineer profiles, permissions, and coverage areas.

Click “Edit” on the Engineer

Find the engineer you want to update in the users list and click Edit next to their name. This will open the engineer’s profile where you can manage their settings, availability, and postcode coverage areas.

Click the “Postcode Areas” Tab

Within the engineer’s profile, click the Postcode Areas tab. This section allows you to manage the postcode areas that the engineer is allowed to cover for repair visits.

Click on NG (Area Code)

Click on NG (Area Code)

Enter the Postcode Area

Click into the Postcode Areas field and enter the postcode area or district you want to assign to the engineer. This can be a broad area such as LN, or NG, or a more specific district like LN6, or NG24, depending on the level of coverage required.

Enter the Postcode Area

Click “Update”

Click Update to save the changes. The postcode area will now be assigned to the engineer and they will be eligible to receive jobs within that coverage area.
